Over the past few weeks, we’ve been exploring Forspoken’s epic magic-based parkour and the game’s intense combat system. Today we will introduce Atia’s world view!
When Frey Holland is transported to this new land, she soon discovers a twisted cruelty behind its beauty. A phenomenon called the Blake ravaged the land, turning people and animals alike into savage, growling beasts.
One of the only beings seemingly unaffected by this creeping corruption, Frey explores the vast landscapes of this ravaged world, uncovering its secrets and perhaps even becoming its savior.
It’s a big job and there’s a lot to keep her busy. Athia is full of things to discover, from monuments and photo her spots that test your parkour skills, to hidden dungeons full of powerful enemies. You can preview what to expect with the latest Deep Dive her video.
Read on. Let’s take a closer look at some of these great activities.
Monuments can be found throughout the Broken World of Asia and are well worth exploring.
These sacred stones still store some of Tantus’ power, and should Frey be able to free them from Blake’s corruption, they’ll be richly rewarded with boosts to her stats! provide different boosts – some give more health, some increase defense, magical power, or more.
Of course, these monuments are easy to liberate, but not easy to reach. Some are easy to find, while others are placed in hard-to-reach locations that will test Frey’s proficiency in parkour skills.
However, that extra power could be the edge you need in your upcoming fights, so it’s worth the effort…
Some monuments have challenges called flashbacks. These take you back in time to an early point in Asia’s history, so you can experience how Blake first impacted the world.
The exact nature of these challenges varies. Some will ask you to defeat enemies within a time limit, protect your citizens from hordes of enemies, or parkour to reach your destination as quickly as possible.
Completing flashbacks will give you mana (to unlock new spells) and other rewards. Flashbacks can be replayed directly from the map screen – the better you do, the more rewards you get.
These beautiful puddles are found all over the world and give Frey the blessing of increasing his magical skills. They’re an important way to expand Frey’s skills, giving her all-new spells to work on in her repertoire, so you’ll be thrilled every time you find one.
They have resonance, so you can tell if they are nearby. However, it’s up to you to actually find it. Remember – Forspoken rewards curious and observant people.
Another way to upgrade Frey’s magic is through Spellcrafting Challenges.
Inside the Refuge (a safe space where Frey can rest and craft items) is an ancient book. These tasks require you to use your abilities in different ways. For example, traversal a specific parkour move over and over, hit multiple enemies with a single attack, and even more challenging challenges.
Completing spellcraft challenges will make your abilities stronger. It’s also a great way to explore Forspoken’s magical system. It may inspire you to use your abilities in ways you never thought possible before…
While exploring Asia, you may collect old coins. These can be found in locked chests or hidden around beautiful landscape corners.
You can use these coins on the exchange to get valuable items that can enhance your crafting and more.
Certain people in Cipal may also request special items from the world. If you can find it and deliver it to them, they will reward your efforts.
Hidden underground throughout the world is the Locked Labyrinth. These are extremely dangerous to explore – consisting of large rooms and winding corridors containing valuable items, crafting materials, and some extremely dangerous monsters.
To reach the powerful mini-bosses that lurk inside, you’ll need to use all your combat skills and sometimes ingenious parkour. Beating it isn’t easy, but it’s worth it.
In safe places such as Cipal’s The Shady Tree pub, you can try rolling a Partha.
Pulsa is like a dice, made of animal bones, and when it lands on a symbol, it gives Frey a useful boost. gives the ability to play
Sadly, these boosts are only temporary, but they can make a big difference during breaks.
Think of the poor children of Asia. Once they could run around the whole world, but thanks to Break’s corrupting touch, he’s now trapped within the city walls of Cipal.
They just love seeing what the world looks like over there, and Frey is the perfect woman to show them.
There are photo spots around the world that highlight the awe-inspiring architecture and stunning landscapes of this world. Use parkour to get to these points and get the perfect shot.
The more pictures you take for your kids, the more features you can unlock in photo mode.
Magic cat! Fluffy and adorable magical cat!
Tantas’ Familias usually roam around special monuments. If you want to befriend them – then again, they’re magical cats. – Must be very careful.
These mysterious moggies are pretty sly, so you’ll have to approach them subtly. If you can win their trust, they will move to their shelter so you can play with them anytime!
Ravaging the world of Forspoken, Blake mutated the beast into a terrifying monster full of anger and aggression. But inside this terrifying menagerie lies an even more corrupt creature: the ultimate class of breakbeasts.
The scale and power of these creatures must be seen to be believed. They are perfect predators…and Frey is their prey.
Fortunately, she herself is not at all helpless. If you can defeat her one of these super-powered foes, you’ll get rich rewards.
Whenever you find one of these creatures, you can take it. These represent some of the game’s biggest challenges. Only those with the best equipment, the strongest spells, and the skills to use them will survive.
are you brave enough?
