Xbox Games Showcase 2023 We showcased our most ambitious lineup of games to date. This meant showing off projects from the world’s largest teams, as well as smaller ones. Among the high-profile projects from our own Xbox game studio are: [email protected] Developers including Thunder Lotus 33 Immortal and Microbird Games Dungeon of Hinterberg.
On this week’s Xbox podcast, our very own Larry Hryb interviewed developers from both teams and asked them what it was like to see their projects share the stage with people like: rice field. star field, fablemore.
“It was amazing,” said Thunder Lotus creative director Stéphane Roget. “It was a dream come true for the team and for me. It was so satisfying to be part of the community. I was in the room with all the fans and there was so much energy. [such] great content. It was amazing, one of the best moments of my life. We have worked hard over the past few years to make this happen, so this moment was special. “
Microbird co-founder Philipp Seifried felt similarly: We’ve been quiet about the game for a year and a half. When we first started prototyping, I took some of the first screenshots and posted them on Twitter, got quite a response, but then I was silent for far too long, so I decided to talk about the game. The inability to do so has troubled us. Being able to screen this for the first time at such an amazingly huge event was just being in a cinema in LA, but it was one of the best moments we’ve had in years. was. “
Microbird co-founder Regina Reisinger added: “We were really excited. We were waiting for it with our hands shaking a little bit.”
It’s safe to say that both exposures worked. 33 Immortal I was blown away by the blend of action roguelike mechanics and massive 33-player co-op at its core (drawn from the spirit of MMO raids). Dungeon of Hinterberg On the other hand, it was praised for its vibrant comic book-inspired art style and promise of life sim elements in addition to dungeon crawling.
Both bouts had appointments available for the press, which Rosier was looking forward to being able to do just after the showcase.
“All afternoon we played the same version of the game as the press and it was a lot of fun. [laughs]! Everyone was dying a lot, so we saved each other, and everyone started using the unique powers that each weapon had – you need other players to take positions, so We were developing tactics to eliminate dangerous elites, really dangerous monster elites. It was really fun because it was early. In multiplayer games like 33 Immortal, the game really exists when the players play together, and the dynamics of the game happen in this moment… We were playing together, talking, having fun, and it was a really good moment. “
33 Immortals is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and the cloud, and will be available for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members on day one.
