Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon. Ever since the post-credits cutscene of 2019’s Modern Warfare, I’ve been waiting for this game. Here’s what I’m looking forward to, and what I’m not looking forward to, both in campaign and multiplayer.
From movie-style set pieces, to evil plot twists, to sick villains, the cod campaign looks forward to each release. Call it casual. But I’m not the only one who was disappointed when Black Ops 4 didn’t have a campaign. So far we’ve only seen the reveal of the Dark Water mission and a snippet of the new campaign trailer that was released earlier. felt like it looked like a rehash of the original Modern Warfare opening ship mission. What about the cutscenes in the new trailer? Seriously I thought this was a live action trailer so I had to pause and double take the CGI and cutscenes look really great and I can’t wait to tear it down on a shiny Series X or PC .
Unfortunately, in multiplayer, Activision likes to mess up everything it touches, and has been carefully waiting for anything to happen in Modern Warfare 2’s live service model, especially in terms of “give me more money.” increase. If not at launch, it will almost certainly be a future season pass. Modern Warfare 2019 was really tame at launch when it came to cosmetics and microtransactions with many skins being very neat mil-sim style stuff. Vanguard has all made crazier skins with the transition of skins between games.
Modern Warfare 2 is just around the corner with an odd rolling launch. There’s the campaign first in early access, then the official base launch in multiplayer, and then Warzone 2.0, which launches in November and shortly after that.
