Excited about my file explorer tabs (opens in new tab) Since I discovered them in a Windows Insider build back in June. With tabs, you don’t have to juggle multiple windows just to shuffle a few files. These files are inevitably lost during processing, hiding behind other windows.
Tabs are on by default in version KB5019509, but they’re not for everyone. For example, there are some features I’m used to as Chrome users that aren’t translated. For example, you can’t middle-click a file to open it in a new tab. Also, I can’t drag the tab to another window.
If you decide to disable tabs in Windows 11, think again. There is no way to do so, not even in the File Explorer properties menu. If you don’t like it, don’t use it.

Sharing to more devices is another usability improvement feature that says, “The Windows sharing experience has been enhanced to allow you to directly access your desktop, File Explorer, Photos, Snipping Tool, Xbox, and other apps, Now you can easily share files with more discoverable devices nearby.” A bit like his Airdrop feature on Mac.
At the end of October, Windows 11 users will be able to combine all their photos from OneDrive, phone and camera. The Photos app has a Memories feature so you can look back at random junk. Until four years ago. It reminds me of my terrible life choices.
But as a serious matter, iPhone users can also sync photos to Windows PC via the cloud. This is a good way to switch to Android… I try to guess.
The partnership between Windows and Amazon also means that you can access the Amazon Appstore from your PC thanks to the Windows Subsystem for Android.
