Busy month-ends are all over the sales charts.
Switch’s software did well in the US, according to NPD Group’s October sales survey, due to a month full of new releases.
All data are based on dollar sales, unless noted for the period October 2-29. Third parties report digital sales of e-shops.
The Switch was inevitably set to be down in October compared to last year due to the period that included the launch of the Switch OLED. I was 1st and 2nd in both.
In software, all three major Switch debuts in October made the top 10. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (October 20) finished his No. 6 spot on the comprehensive software charts, while Persona 5 Royal (No. 21) surged from his No. 291 in September. Ranked 7th in the new multiplatform release. Bayonetta 3 (October 28) debuted in his ninth combined two-day physical sale. For comparison, Bayonetta 2’s October 2014 game charts did not appear as a Wii U exclusive (although only the top 10 were released). Other Nintendo software in the top 20 include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 11, Splatoon 3 Land of the Second Moon at No. 12, Nintendo Switch Sports at No. 18, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at No. 20. . Third-party Switch software includes FIFA 23 at #3, NBA 2k23 at #8, Minecraft at #13, Dragon Ball: Breakers at #16, and Nier Automata’s Switch release from #217 to #19.
