Weird West is a pretty niche genre within games, so I was excited about the unexplored territory. We’ve been inspired by works that take established tropes and put some really interesting twists on them. It incorporates Gothic elements and makes it lighter with a laid-back protagonist.
Brian Azzarello’s “Moonshine” comic does something similar, mixing vampire tropes with real history to great effect. Another good example is Netflix’s Castlevania series. The series presents a different perspective on the monsters and his hunter profession with characters that are very human and vulnerable.

The Wild West is much more than traditional rocky deserts and canyons. In our stranger Wild West, sunsets paint the landscape blood-red and stretched shadows mingle with creeping monsters. creeps into the twilight.
From trains to banks, from desert towns to snowy mountains, and beyond, from gaping underground tombs to smoky industrial factories, you’ll find a variety of iconic Wild West-inspired locations.
