Each year, the Impy Awards you, the Dreams community, and all the amazing work you’ve done inside and outside Dreamiverse. Putting together a show that captured last year’s Dreams was an absolute highlight of our year, and that’s exactly what we’re planning to do at the 4th Annual Impy Awards early next year.
Today, we are pleased to announce that nominations for the 4th Annual Impy Awards have opened. This year, you can nominate yourself or a fellow dreamer for one of 23 categories. These will be shortlisted and presented to a panel of judges (traditionally, a small number will be put to community vote!).You can do it Start submitting nominations here.
As for our categories, we love getting feedback after each Impy Awards and evolving them to better represent all areas of Dreams. I can feel it! So here are the categories for the 4th Annual Impy Awards.
- Creator/Team of the Year: This Impy recognizes the brightest creator or team of creators in the Dreamiverse over the past year, creating creations that have caught the attention of dreamers and left them wanting more.
- Creation of the Year: This Impy recognizes the outstanding work released to Dreamiverse this year. This best work excels in many areas and creates an amazing experience that is recognized as one of his best works in the Dreamiverse.
- Art direction excellence: This Impy recognizes works that exhibit a professional and consistent level of quality and style in their visual and artistic design.
- Environmental Art Excellence: This Impy recognizes some of the strongest environmental art within Dreams, demonstrating great asset design, world building, and extraordinary use of lighting and style.
- Great story: This Impy recognizes works with compelling narratives, showcase stories, and plot development with maximum skill.
- Sculptural Excellence: This Impy recognizes Dreamiverse sculptures. This is a great example of what Dreams’ sculpting tools can do.
- Animation Excellence: This Impy recognizes works with the best movement displays in Dreams, such as puppets, short films, and well-crafted game animations.
- Gameplay Excellence: This Impy recognizes works with sophisticated and professionally executed gameplay ideas and mechanics to deliver a truly superior player experience.
- Most original gameplay: This Impy recognizes works that demonstrate truly original and unique gameplay mechanics.
- Excellent character design: This Impy recognizes Dreams characters as well-made, with a lot of personality and originality.
- Audio design excellence: This Impy recognizes works with creative and well-implemented audio design.
- excellent voice actor: This Impy recognizes creators who provide their voices to their work of the highest standard. This includes but is not limited to character voices and scene narration.
- VR Excellence: This Impy recognizes the Dreams VR work that excels at running virtual reality experiences and is a great example of what is possible with Dreams works and VR tools.
- Music Track of the Year: This Impy recognizes a great single piece of music composed and created with Dreams.
- Musician of the Year: This Impy showcases a great understanding of Dreams’ audio tools and recognizes Dreams audio creators for producing quality music. This may be, but is not limited to, standalone music or game scores.
- Community Star: This Impy recognizes outstanding members of the Dreams community and those who have gone above and beyond for the wider community. This award honors streamers, curators, podcasters, creators, fansite editors, and others who have demonstrated they are Champions of Dreams.
- Most Helpful Dreamers: This Impy recognizes the contributions of individuals who spread knowledge through the Dreamiverse. Through streams, collaborations, in-game tutorials, community conversations, and other activities, we’ve helped other dreamers reach their full potential.
- Community collaboration: This Impy recognizes community-run events that invite other dreamers to work together and create something amazing.
- Breakthrough Dreamer: This Impy will be joining the Dreamiverse in 2022 to recognize dreamers who have impacted the community and Dreams with their work, community contributions, or both!
- Contribution beyond dreams: This Impy recognizes community members who share and celebrate the Dreamiverse outside of the Dreams. This could be but not limited to blogging, video making, streaming and podcasting.
- Curation star: This Impy rewards community members with the best collections and contributions that highlight their work in the Dreamiverse.
- creative innovation: This Impy recognizes creators or creations who have pushed the boundaries of what is possible with Dreams tools, finding unique applications for them or developing original ideas that push the boundaries of creativity. doing.
- Evolving experience: This Impy was made in the Dreamiverse and recognizes that even though it started early in the Dreams beta, it has evolved significantly over the past year.
