Finally, a free game about skateboard witches fighting corporate evil

I love student games for two reasons. They’re usually pretty good proofs of concept, and they’re usually free.

So does Witchpunk, a free game that hit Steam this month, created by a team called 99% Funk at the DigiPen Institute of Technology. In it, you’ll engage in some sick arena combat against corporate demons while beating robots with giant magic hammers and spray paint while shredding with witch-like skateboards.

Witch Molly’s biggest trick is that she deals more damage as her speed increases. As you can imagine, crushing subway rails or blowing up ramps can send enemies flying with a high-velocity hammer attack.
