From what Bethesda has revealed so far, there are four major Starfield cities to visit in the upcoming space RPG. As you might expect based on Bethesda’s past games, cities are hubs for getting quests, shopping, and encountering much of the story. Discovering and returning to each of them can drive much of the game’s narrative. I have.
There’s a lot to discover for yourself at launch, but in anticipation of the 2023 space adventure, here’s a breakdown of all known Starfield locations and major cities.
What are the main locations of Starfield?
new atlantis
New Atlantis is a hyper-military, modern capital city where the United Colonies set up camp on the planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system. Todd Howard said New Atlantis is “not only the biggest in the game”, it’s bigger than Skyrim, Fallout 4, or any of the developer’s previous games.
“New Atlantis is a true reflection of the future of our world,” said Design Director Emil Pagliarulo. It features huge, warped skyscrapers, shady military and political officials, and lots of flying cars. I really want to go here. (Don’t live there forever. Just visit.) Akira City
It is home to the Free Star Collective, one of Starfield’s main factions. Bethesda describes it as a “loose union of three different star systems” and its value lies in individualism, where people from diverse backgrounds unite for his one common goal: becoming a space cowboy. The planet is inhabited by extraterrestrial hunters called Ashta, who are hybrids of wolves and Velociraptors. If you decide to live in Akira City, don’t worry. There is a wall that protects you from living things. If you look closely at Akira City’s main gate, it says “est. 2167 by Solomon Coe”, and he was founded 163 years earlier than the present in Starfield’s story in 2330.

This floating water spectacle is a “pleasure city” called Neon. Employees at Xenofresh Corporation got the urge to set up a dock and catch fish (who wouldn’t) and built a space dock in the middle of a large body of water. Surprisingly, they decided to fish with mind-boggling psychedelics, and instead of just catching fish, they decided to produce it. There is one that produces a substance that can be refined into a medicine called “Aurora” which is restricted. Sounds like a very silly planet.
How many cities are there in Starfield?
Starfield will be home to four major cities, including New Atlantis City, Bethesda’s largest city ever. Yes, it’s bigger than Skyrim and Fallout have ever seen. His two other known cities are Akila and Neon.
The fourth city is still unknown, but we can speculate that it could be where the pirates of the Crimson Fleet or Ryujin Industries call home.Both Freestar Collective and United Colonies are on this list of major cities. . Neon was created by Xenofresh Corp, but it certainly fits the cybercorp feel you’d expect from Ryujin. Perhaps the fourth and final city has a space pirate vibe that rounds out the group.
How big is the starfield?
Bethesda has hinted that the world of Starfield will be huge. June’s gameplay preview revealed that there are over 100 solar systems and over 1000 planets. There are four major cities, but there are other communities and outposts that you can explore on your space voyage.
