PC game progressive metal project WASD has released its second album. escape (opens in new tab)chunky, ploggy It includes reimaginings of classic tracks from hits like Deus Ex and Warcraft 2, as well as deeper cuts like Turrican and Space Quest 3. Disc Mystery Single” board.
“We played around with the idea of trying to put all the songs on a floppy,” said Green. Unfortunately, the required audio compression made his songs “unlistenable”. Escape’s satisfying floppy His release probably required disc distribution like his install of his ’90s games. So instead, Green made his 50 limited edition floppies, each of which he put two random tracks from the album on.
This makes for a “not bad” listening experience, but I’d prefer to keep the digital download of the album bundled for listening on $200 headphones. Isn’t it?

There are some gems from this era left on the floor of Escape’s cutting room, and Green may attempt to revisit them in future work. Myst, for example, fits right in the middle of Green’s favored era, but he still hasn’t settled on a style that satisfactorily translates the game’s dreamy OST. Similarly, Green tinkered with covers of his StarCraft and Unreal Tournament music, eventually dropping it (his original Unreal is shown here).
