ArtStation users can now tag individual works with the “NoAI” HTML tag and enable the setting for the entire portfolio. ArtStation has updated their terms of service to ban the use of tagged art by any kind of automated platform, but will tags start blocking such programs soon, or will the development of those platforms begin first? It is not clear from the post whether compliance from the parties is required.
Similarly, it is unclear how ArtStation will detect unauthorized use of an artist’s work and what enforcement will be done if developers find workarounds for tags. We’ve reached out to ArtStation for comment. I will update this story if I get a reply.
