in response to famitsu (According to the translator Sotomatsu) asked Japanese developers what to expect in 2023, Itsuno said:
Right now, I’m immersed in the production of Dragon’s Dogma 2, and I’m losing my sense of season right now. We are making good progress, so we would like to proceed with development so that we can provide you with the latest information as soon as possible.
It’s surprising that we still don’t have a release date, let alone a release date for Dragon’s Dogma 2. From the Dragon’s Dogma 10th Anniversary stream, we know Capcom is using his RE Engine for the sequel. And that’s about it.
A sizable 2020 leak revealed that Dragon’s Dogma 2 was slated for a “second quarter of 2022” release, but that’s gone. And both Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4 Remake appear to be well ahead of that.
Since then, Netflix’s Dragon’s Dogma series, released in September 2020, has reignited interest in the original game and re-released Dark Arisen.
