Kukoos: Lost Pets is a 3D platformer where you play as a species called Kukoos. These island-dwelling creatures look like cute little gorillas. This fits very well with the atmosphere of this fun and goofy game.
The game begins with a cutscene on the island celebrating “Pet Day”. However, during this celebration, the pet’s collar goes rogue, everything turns evil, and they run away. Gramma asks you to enter “fwendly” doors that lead to various universes where pets are hidden.
The game has different universes, each with multiple levels with a universe-wide theme. Also, these universes have different pets that help you in each level, based on the theme. The pet that helps you is a small flying orb that can light up a space so you can see where you’re heading.
Each level has rogue pets that attack you. You can jump or dash to rescue it from its collar. To get stars, you have to save a certain amount of pets per level. Collect enough coins and plants to get 3 stars. Each level hides a lovely plant. There are usually around 4 of them, and they are used to create Fwendly potions that can enter new Fwendly doors. The specific gameplay of Kukoos: Lost Pets is a 3D platformer where you run, jump and dash to complete obstacles. There are also several puzzles in the game and a boss at the end of each universe.
The controls are fairly straightforward, and a how-to-play tutorial is provided at the start of the game. The only interface issue I experienced was when the game quit unexpectedly. Thankfully, the game autosaves when you finish a level, so I was able to pick up where I left off.
I also noticed a few animation glitches, but the game does a lot visually. But everything looked cool and fun, so we didn’t mind. I didn’t notice any animation issues during gameplay.
The voice actor played Kuku in the cutscenes, and I thought he did a great job. The music is fun and the game never gets boring thanks to constantly changing levels and worlds.
Kukoos: Lost Pets is a game that anyone can play. Not too difficult, cute and friendly atmosphere. Save different pets and enter different worlds to keep the game flowing smoothly. This game can take about 3 hours to play, after which you can still replay the level and get him 3 stars. The story is enjoyable, as is the gameplay and visuals.
