Well, we’ve seen some publishers boost their luck with their marketing, but this one really takes the biscuit.
RedDeer Games announced nOS: New Operating System. This is a new game for Switch that lightly simulates the PC experience, but with cute visuals and a greatly simplified user experience. It will be released sometime later this month.
The problem, though, is that the game’s marketing does its best to make you think this is an actual, bonafide new operating system for the Switch. RedDeer’s press release confused the name of the game, calling it a “new operating system” in one sentence and a “Nintendo operating system” in another.
You’ll no doubt notice that the latter is also the title of the YouTube video above. If Nintendo themselves has anything to say, I can’t imagine it being called that for long. switch.
It’s strange because the game itself can be seen a little have understood..? ! Granted, it’s not for everyone, but I think there are probably people out there who are interested in this sort of thing. Perhaps to give kids a taste of how a decent PC operating system works.
Either way, we believe that misleading marketing isn’t really necessary.
