Hideki Kamiya is a video game legend, directing classic titles such as Resident Evil 2 and the Bayonetta series. But at one E3, he apparently got a talk from one of the greatest legends, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Zelda.
In a clip posted by game historian Liam Robertson, Kamiya talks about his first meeting with Miyamoto. Kamiya apparently complained to his staff at Nintendo Senior at his E3. Because the original Donkey Kong didn’t make it to the Virtual Console He didn’t make it to the arcade.
When the conversation heated up, Miyamoto tapped Kamiya on the shoulder and explained to his face why the company hadn’t done it yet. He describes the experience as shocking and frightening.
