Fans of cute keycaps have bad news. HyperX Monthly collectible keycaps (opens in new tab) It was on sale at the end of January and sold out immediately. This month’s keycap featured a rugged, snug kitten in a winter vest.
The aptly-named HyperX Cozy Cat Keycap Coco features a small striped tabby placed above the key of your choice. This light brown kitty has dark stripes, a tiny pink nose and ears, and a white rump that you can just boldly rub. It looks ready.
Coco’s neck is wrapped in a teal scarf with knit line detailing, a snowflake pattern and his name printed across the back. On one side of his head is a matching HyperX-themed beanie with white pompoms. Honestly, at this point, I’m not sure if I want the keycaps or if I’m trying to steal this cat’s winter drip for myself. Given that you can’t get either, it’s debatable, and it’s summer here in the Southern Hemisphere anyway.
Coco may have slipped through my fingers, but it’s still super cute and reminds me of this keycap collection HyperX is working on. I would have kept a close eye on the site if I had known this cute little guy with a scarf would be for sale. The teased silhouettes allude to things like frogs, ducks with headphones, and Shiba Inu, so I’m pretty excited about any of them.
It’s worth noting that these HyperX keys are 3D printed using HP’s color 3D printing technology. They’re really cool, but in my experience they look like they’re 3D printed and not as smooth as the promotional images.
I happened to pick up some of HyperX’s own printed keycaps at PAX Aus. I also checked out a ton of cool computer builds there. (opens in new tab) These caps included a 20th birthday cake keycap that you can see in the display image at the top of this page. These pictures look pretty accurate to the final product in my eyes so you can get a fair idea of the product you will receive.
