One Piece Odyssey could be the best one piece The best game ever, but I didn’t want that story to be saved for an anime instead.RPG smartly takes existing elements one piece Lore and build on its characters enough to appeal to fans and newcomers alike. However, the video game’s pointless fluff makes it difficult to fully immerse yourself in its world and characters, especially at the beginning.
That said, I don’t think I’d feel that way if it didn’t include an ending that sounded this strong and thematic. One Piece Odyssey‘s great story contrasts with some of the more boring video game elements, and I wanted to see it unfold as an anime arc.
This work contains spoilers One Piece Odyssey.
sailing is not so easy
One Piece Odyssey The Straw Hat Pirates of the series run aground on Waford Island. Before the crew can repair the wrecked pirate ship, a mysterious girl named Rimu steals their powers and scatters them as cube shards throughout the land of the island and Memoria. The only way is to find them scattered across different settings, defeat the island’s guardians, and use the power of Rimu to step into Memoria.
A land constructed from memory, Memoria reunites the Straw Hats with old foes and friends in some of the most emotional arcs. one piece history. It’s actually one of the sources of One Piece OdysseyThe main problem with: The series half-heartedly translated the existing story into engaging gameplay.
in us 4 star reviewnote that the game suffers from a slow start but picks up the pace after the long Alabasta chapter. One Piece Odyssey didn’t appeal to me As much as the reviewer, he agreed that the game was “an interesting game thanks to its solid characters, plot and worldview”. At that point, players could easily get bored of running around the whole town and going into the sewers to advance anything that would take half the time to see.
After all, anime will only focus on story. No need to run back and forth for a pair of keys or pester his NPCs for clues.
awesome anime filler arc
Even with pacing issues One Piece Odyssey Treat source material with respect. It references other characters, entities, and stories that point to the existing One Piece canon. You may think that this detracts from the appeal of the anime, but it is Odyssey‘s story does not contradict the broader plot of the franchise.
Even better, Rim and Addio visibly grow as characters over the course of the game. (more specifically, “buddies” or friends as close as family).
Adio, on the other hand, doesn’t often travel with Luffy’s crew, but is still incredibly integrated into the world of One Piece. one piece villain smoker and clear understanding world government It inspired many of the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures in anime and manga. One Piece OdysseyThe story also takes care to weave Wafford’s lore into Straw Hat’s memory, like shoving a book about Wafford into an unsuspecting Water Seven library. It also affects character strengths, such as handing over reigns to unravel the mystery behind Wafford’s connection to the People of the Sky and Weatheria.
One Piece Odyssey The Straw Hats finally wrap up an unsolved ending before leaving Wafford, answering questions such as where Rim came from, Adio’s true intentions, and the Straw Hat’s role in the entire adventure. Even though they have left the island, Rim and Addio can’t give up on their dream of taking revenge on his people, ending up adopting a new perspective.
true friendship never ends
The ending itself is one that particularly resonates with me.if it was not clear from him Yu-Gi-Oh! Looking like a villain, Addio is the antagonist of One Piece OdysseyHe manipulated Rim into stealing the power of the Straw Hats, leading him to defeat the island’s guardians. It becomes more and more apparent as we take steps to awaken the Breath.
Adio seeks to destroy the world and recreate it with the weapon’s weather-manipulating abilities. A goal he feels strong enough to willingly sacrifice his bond with Lim.if it weren’t for that he might have succeeded genuine article rim.
That’s right, Lim Luffy and the gang knew that she wasn’t actually the real Lim. It has red eyes.
Adio shoots Lim to prevent her from stealing his powers. However, she cares about Addio, who was betrayed, probably because she adventured with Luffy through Memoria. She uses her last words to ask Luffy to bring Adio back to his senses before turning him into a cube (because she is not actually a real person). The arc that must reign with Divine Breath begins.
After Luffy defeats Addio, Luffy admits that the bond he mocked was honestly stronger than his own belief in revenge. At a key point, he pointed out that he could have easily killed her but didn’t shoot. suggests that it was not.
One Piece Odyssey That’s up to the player’s interpretation, but based on the framing I’ve come to believe it’s probably the case. Reminiscences with Lim The final battle with Luffy.like pointed out by the witch, he has the skill to kill Rim when he shoots her, but he doesn’t. Drag your feet with the up Divine Breath. By the time the Straw Hats leave Wafford, Miko and Rimu have rebuilt Wafford and hope he will return, as Adio is their “companion”.
One Piece Odyssey It’s not canon. Producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki said, Interview with Ungeek before the game starts.Nothing related to main progressed directly one piece Plot or main cast as people, even if it affects Lim and Adio. But it ends on an emotionally satisfying note that does the characters justice. Heck, even the action-packed cutscenes look like they came straight out of the anime.
I’m satisfied with the story, but I feel like I could have done more One Piece Odyssey If only I had watched it instead of idly walking through the RPG part. It would have saved me hours of my time if I could have effortlessly experienced a heartwarming, canon-worthy story. but sometimes I want to know what happens without going back through the desert.
