Are you as surprised as we are that the tenth trailer for the Fast & Furious franchise film has arrived? Because we absolutely count Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Twenty years ago, no one thought they would still be making these films. Even Vin Diesel. The new movie is ready for his May 19th theatrical release.
Fast X’s first trailer is sure to get you excited by introducing a slew of new and returning faces from the franchise. (Charlize Theron) causes more trouble and sees them return as newcomers Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.
The trailer introduces Momoa as the movie’s villain, which is directly related to Fast 5. Remember when Dom and the gang towed vaults across Rio and crushed everything in its path? Also, we briefly saw Larson in the movie and told Dom that Momoa’s character “comes to you with everything.”
Of course, we also see Hom street racing through physics-defying cars, explosions, motorcycles, fight scenes, and somehow what looks like the nuclear bomb from The Dark Knight Rises. No one knows what’s inside that metal ball, but it’s not good. Oh, and Jacob drives a car with a rocket launcher built in, which is pretty impressive.
Also returning to the film are Helen Mirren as Queenie Shaw, Cardi B as Laysa and Scott Eastwood as Little Nobody. And, of course, we have to remember that the iconic Rita Moreno joins the cast as Abuelita Toretto, the grandmother of Dom, Jacob and Mia.
This is the 10th movie in the Fast Saga, but it’s also the penultimate movie (probably). Diesel has said that the franchise will end with Fast & Furious 11, but if these films continue to make billions of dollars, it will most likely continue in some form.
Fast X hits theaters May 19th.
