“It should be noted that two of Activision’s main games on consoles, Call of Duty and Overwatch, belong to the shooter genre,” reads the CMA report. âThe shooter genre has a large share of the publishing market, especially on consoles.â
The report says shooters are a big contributor to PlayStation’s overall playtime as well as its revenue.
Call of Duty and Destiny are mentioned throughout the documentation. The former was a major point of contention around the acquisition, while the latter was acquired when Sony acquired Bungie.
