The old one was last seen giving the impression of a fair Shinra president.
A change is about to take place at the top of Square Enix.
The company’s board of directors announced a vote at its next shareholders’ meeting to appoint Takashi Kiryu as the company’s president, succeeding Yosuke Matsuda.
Kiryu previously served as Director of Corporate Communications and Strategy and Business Relations at Square. In recent months, Matsuda has come under fire for aggressively pursuing adding the controversial Non Fungible Token (NFT) technology to the game, which included two separate letters from the president. It was included, but no public plans had been announced yet.
