Screenshots of Metroid Zero Mission have been spotted in the Japanese version of the Nintendo Switch Online app. Yakumonoor LuigiBlood found an image hidden in the app’s Metroid Fusion folder ( My Nintendo News).
Version 1.1.0 brought the critically acclaimed Metroid Fusion as the first new addition to the GBA NSO app, but some incidental screenshots remained and the first Metroid GBA Remake Some zero missions also come to service.
The screenshot in the tweet below shows the “link” screen for Zero Mission, showing how to link the game to Fusion. There’s no text, and no screenshots used, but it could imply more than just a new Metroid game for the service.

Currently, all mainline Metroid games are playable on NSO — Metroid (NES NSO), Metroid II: Samus Returns (GB NSO), Super Metroid (SNES NSO), Metroid Fusion (GBA NSO), Metroid Dredd ( Switch) — but Zero Mission is definitely a complete version of the original game and one of the best in the series. Fusion is nothing to sneeze at either.
