now Sid Myers Civilization VI is available on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Cloud. While many of you may be new to this epic turn-based strategy game, others will be returning to it after some time away from your days of conquest. Either way, I thought I’d help out by providing some starter tips to help you establish your civilization within the first 50 turns or so.
Some core starting tips
- ocean front view: It is convenient to build a city near a waterway or coast. Starting will open up more options for your civilization (trade, food, etc.). For example, building a city on the coast immediately gives you a nautical research bonus. This will come in handy later when you’re launching a wave.
- Robots are your friend: Use auto-exploration on Warrior/Scout early on so you can focus on getting your core strategy in place. Their pathfinding abilities are very good, allowing them to know early on the locations of desirable future city-states and barbarian encampments (more on that below).
- set and forget: Use the queue system early and often in both research and unit creation. This allows you to think about the rest of your layout and exploration while the turns go quickly (faster than you think!). Ideally, your first unit should be a mix of Scouts, Warriors, Slingers/Archers, and Builders in any order.
choose the path to victory and work towards it
There are 5 victory conditions (Science, Culture, Religion, Dominance, Score) and Diplomacy is gathering storm Download contents) And each civilization’s leader has core strengths that you should lean on and not leave. Establish them early so your civilization can grow and take advantage of this.
Much of this information and strategy can be planned early on from the in-game tech tree. We also provide a rough approximation of the number of turns required to unlock some of these skills. A number of technologies can also be added to the build queue, allowing you to “set and forget” as you work on other aspects of your world domination plan. Or, to make it even easier, if you have a win condition in mind, just scroll right and select the desired technology and the game will unlock it to achieve the ideal technology and automatically add it to the queue. you are on the way
We’re trying to speed up at 50 turns today, so I recommend unlocking the “Core 3” pottery, animal husbandry, and mining ASAP. All of them in less than 30 turns should do it Once unlocked, several other paths will open allowing you to make your way towards the tiles and extract resources. They are key to early success in the game as they affect just about everything.
Scout early, find neighbors, discover resources
Knowledge is the key to success, and it comes by uncovering the “fog of war” on the world map. Civilization VISending scouts out into the world can spawn resource locations, other civilizations, villages, and those pesky barbarian camps (more on these later). Scouts may also come across National Her Wonder, who boosts astrology.
Scout is obviously the one to use here, but Warrior can also be used as a substitute early on. In the early stages of the game, the chances of another civilization invading your newly established settlement are relatively low, and you may benefit from early rounds by sending them out as ‘cheap scouts’ before building dedicated scouts. (takes about 5 turns). Once you have your scouts in place, you’ll need to pull the warriors back closer to your home. Because Barbarians can cause serious problems for early expansion plans. Speaking of…
Wipe out the barbarians as quickly as possible
Despite your best plans, a few unwelcome raids through the local barbarian population can quickly bring everything down. It is recommended that you counter their raids by locating the camp and wiping it out completely.
We need to start planning this attack before it happens. A warrior can earn his XP by defeating relatively weak Barbarian Scouts. If you can level them up, these one-on-one fights of him will have an advantage. Personally, I find a good combo of 2 Slinger/Archer units and his 1 Warrior unit to be the best approach early in the game. Once you can upgrade your slinger to an archer (by researching archery after farming), their line of sight will allow them to start attacking barbarian raiders from a distance, allowing the warriors to clean up. can weaken the
Taking care of these barbarian camps is key to success early on, so start building the ideal units of Raider-free settlers, builders, traders, and more that can bring your expansion plans to fruition. can.
build builder
By around turn 30, you’ll need to unlock pottery, farming, and mining to make available resources near your starting location (on an adjacent tile). Builders will be an important unit in this next early stage of the game. Because we want to get the local economy up and running as soon as possible. This opens the deal and puts it into expansion plans.
Builders can only be used 3 times before they expire, but you can build improvements instantly without waiting for your farm to take shape. So if you’re starting in a very feature-rich area, I’d recommend queuing two of him for this phase of the game, if you can afford it. It can also be used (for free!) to repair damaged titles that may be raided by barbarians or other hostile civilizations.
Another unique aspect of the builder is the Civilization VI For example, if you need a resource quickly, such as food, you can also harvest the resource and pay the parent city in bulk. can also be used to help with further expansion such as campus deployment. For example, Wonders like Stonehenge should be built next to Stone.
We hope these starter tips will help you on your quest to rule the world. Civilization VIAs you get deeper and deeper into the game from turns 100 to 200, you’ll no doubt discover (or revisit) the different ways you approach the game and the more detailed strategies you need to consider. . , have fun playing Sid Myers Civilization VI Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Cloud are available today.
