Before, Blizzard warned players Predicted wait times and warned players not to leave the queue even if they were stuck on the wait screen after the queue timer expired.
“During the Early Access Beta Weekend, you may experience queues while logging into Diablo IV. Please note that the countdown may end and exceed the time stated in the queue timer. Don’t leave the queues as they will be resuming, more precise timers will be in place during the Open Beta Weekend.”

Latency and server issues are nothing new to betas.The beta is intended in part as a complete pre-launch stress test, especially as hot as the next entry in Blizzard’s long-running ARPG franchise. The game you’ve been waiting for.
