In Diablo 4, you’ll face a seemingly endless tide of evil as you explore different regions of Sanctuary. You may also participate in an ongoing battle. This is a Diablo 4 World Events guide that will help you with some of the random encounters you may run into.
Diablo 4 World Events
Diablo 4 World Events appear as bright orange circles on the minimap (to distinguish them from main and side quests). When you reach an area, you will be shown the task type and requirements. Note that these encounters can occur in overworld maps and dungeons. Also, since this is an online game, random players may appear during exploration.
Anyway, here are some examples of Diablo 4 world events.
- Cull the Wicked – Probably the simplest and easiest, as you just need to kill all enemies. Then a mini-boss will appear and you have to defeat it.
- Waves of Darkness – Wipe out as many waves of enemies as you can within the time limit.
- Cursed Chests – Numerous mobs spawn when interacting with chests.
- Wayward Soul – A blue spirit roams around and you must eliminate other enemies while searching for your loved one.
- Insatiable Hunger – Other enemies keep spawning while the demon floats in the center of the summoning area. Some of these mobs are associated with demons and must be defeated before they are eaten up.
- Caravan Under Siege – There are about 3 structures with survivors. You must defeat your enemies and keep everyone alive.
- Hold You Ground – Similar to Caravan Under Siege, but this time there is only one NPC you have to protect.
- Free – Run around the area and free a certain number of prisoners.
- Ancient Siphon – Three pillars glowing gold. Eliminates mobs within radius so they can be destroyed.
- Ancient Obelisk – Four rings of blood surround the obelisk. You have to stand in each circle until the glyph is formed.
- Rites of Ascension – Kill an enemy using a channeling spell. And defeat the “unawakened” enemies left behind.
- Jar of Souls – Kill numerous enemy mobs and pick up souls to feed into jars. Diablo 4 world events in Fractured Peaks typically require 30 souls.
- Tainted Blood Ritual – Occurs at the College of Light in the northeastern part of Fractured Peaks. A vampire mini-boss will appear. The mini-boss is split into multiple Fangstorm his mobs, which must be eliminated. Interestingly, this event only rewards XP and Gold. I can’t get my chest out.
Most Diablo 4 world events reward Murmuring Obols, a currency used to exchange for XP, gold, various loot, and random gear. Finally, note that there is also a mastery mechanic. Think of these as extra requirements that give extra rewards from higher chests. For example, you may be tasked with keeping all survivors alive or completing an encounter before the timer runs out.
