The Week In Games: Return to Hyrule
Monday 15:53
Kozik’s social media channels issued this statement today.
We are devastated to announce that FRANK KOZIK passed away unexpectedly last Saturday.
Frank was a bigger man than himself and an icon in each genre he worked in. He dramatically changed every industry he was in. He was a natural creative force. We are beyond lucky and honored to have been a part of his journey.
He loved his wife, cats, classic muscle cars, mentoring and Disneyland. His powerful presence will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy, like all great masters, lives on through his art and his memories.
Details of the memorial service will be announced soon.
For now, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this ordeal.
with love,
sharon and cat
While best known to a wider audience for his concerts and poster art, he’s basically all the greats with loud 1990s guitars, from Nirvana to Stone Temple Pilots to Pearl Jam to Helmet to The Melvins. I’ve worked with bands. Kozik also founded Manns His Ruin His Records in 1994, leaving a lasting legacy in the music industry itself. The label was home to bands like Kew’s, Queens of the Stone Age and High on Fire, but closed in 2001.
He was also prominent in the vinyl toy market, having worked as chief creative officer for 2000s scene champion Kidrobot after it was acquired by NECA after narrowly avoiding bankruptcy in 2014.
As a tribute to the manāHis work is literally hanging right next to my chair as I type thisā This is a collection of his best posters.
