Amnesia: The Bunker is the next installment in the acclaimed horror series Frictional Games, originally scheduled for March 2023. After that release, the schedule has changed several times, but now the team has released yet another work. Amnesia: Bunker Delays. The new Amnesia: The Bunker release date is June 6th for PlayStation 4 (the native version for PlayStation 5 has not been announced).
Why Amnesia: The Bunker Is Delayed
Frictional released a brief statement explaining the reason for the delay. The game has run into certification issues and the studio needs another two weeks to fix the issues. A free demo will be released on May 22nd, but was only announced for his PC.
Creative lead Fredrik Olson elaborated further on Twitter. He speculated on what was said in the tweet and said that multiple, rare and difficult-to-reproduce crashes were discovered during the authentication process. He also explained that studios worked long weekends to help solve problems faster, but was quick to add that that’s not how Frictional works.
Olson said the staff “worked really hard to make The Banker the best game possible” and was “very excited” to share the game with players. He also said that everything is going well.
Amnesia: The Bunker has already had several delays since its announcement in December 2022. It was postponed from March to May 16th, to May 23rd, and finally released on June 6th. The postponement to May 16 was due to “a large number of illnesses” plaguing the company. The postponement to May 23 appears to have been partly done for The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears (in addition to wanting to polish it up more), with the studio saying, “Several other titles will be released. We strategically wanted to avoid releasing during a busy busy week.” Games are coming to market. ”
