Lance Reddick’s Silence played a major role in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Forbidden West, and given the way the latter ended, it likely played a major role in the unnamed third film as well. His untimely death has also sparked speculation about what Guerrilla Games would do without him, but according to Narrative director Ben McCaw, the team hasn’t thought about it yet.
The future of Silence in Horizon is yet to be decided
McCaw said in an interview. video game chronicles. When asked about the future of the series without Reddick, he focused on the real world rather than the game world.
“We are focused on absorbing this tragedy and communicating our thoughts to his family,” McCaw said. “We haven’t thought about it. It’s not the time to think about it. We just miss him.”
McCaw and lead writer Annie Ketain also shared their favorite memories of working with Reddick. McCaw cited a particular moment when Reddick took the stage with actor Ashley Burch, who plays Aloy, in Zero Dawn’s Frozen Wild DLC. It was the first time the two had recorded their lines in the same room. Although Kittain did not work directly with Reddick, he said he enjoyed writing for such unique characters as Sirens.
Speculation runs rampant as to what the Guerrilla will do with the Sirens character after Reddick’s death. He was slated to play a key role in the upcoming game, but Silence is directly modeled after Reddick, so things are a little more bizarre than usual.
