Final Fantasy XVI is an all-new mainline entry in the Final Fantasy series, releasing on Thursday, June 22nd.
The launch trailer for Final Fantasy XVI: Salvation was released today as part of the PlayStation Showcase.
With only about a month left until release, we’ve released this awesome trailer for the game we’ve been waiting for.
The story of FINAL FANTASY XVI takes place in Vallistair, a land encrusted with Mother Crystal. Mother Crystals are mountains of glowing crystals that tower over the realm around them and bless the ether. People use the ether from the Mother Crystal as the magical fuel they rely on in their daily lives, and they hail Valistre as “a land blessed by the light of the Mother Crystal.” But now the ether has begun to disappear, and the lifeless dead land spreads further. Such a desperate situation drives countries into conflicts and conflicts.
The launch trailer explores the harsh conditions faced by Bearers who were born with the ability to cast spells at will. And we see the truth behind the Mother Crystal, long thought to have blessed humanity…
In the trailer, we get a first glimpse of the game’s protagonist, Clive Rosfield, on his path of taking up the sword to resist his harsh fate. We also see the turmoil and determination faced by the Dominant, endowed with the ability to conjure Akon’s terrifying powers.
As Clive and Dominant follow what they each consider to be right, how will their ideals collide? What fate awaits the land of Valistia? Their story is about to begin. Look forward to this story of those who believe that the Crystal Legacy has long shaped the destiny of mankind.
