Many PC gamers have piles of boxes full of fans, hard drives, and old PC parts. I know many of you have sent me pictures of your treasures. But here at PC Gamer, nothing takes up more shelf space than a PC case. Not a lot, but very annoying.
That’s why I’m particularly impressed with InWin’s latest work on Computex. It’s a PC case that comes disassembled into several flat cardboard boxes. No polystyrene found.
Now I know that building a PC case is a hell of a lot worse than painstakingly putting together IKEA furniture, but admittedly, I’ve never tried building one of these cases myself. . But his two large ATX PC cases, which InWin was showing off at Computex 2023, didn’t look at all complicated to assemble at first glance.
The front panel, top panel, side panels, motherboard tray, supports, and feet are screwed together using the provided fittings. They are all the same size and once you complete the tray of screws it becomes the SSD mount. use it on your machine.
Then simply fold the cardboard and recycle. My job is done.
Of the two ATX flat packable PC cases that InWin showed off, one featured an industrial design with a metallic gray finish and glass side panels, the other a more opinionated version with leather-style handles. It was a separate yellow and gold piece. I didn’t pay much attention to the latter. Even InWin asked us what we thought of it when deciding what the final product would look like.
These cases are expected to be ready by August. In the meantime, InWin has: Colorful Flatpack PC Cases These have to be folded “like origami” and put together by yourself, and there are even newer versions that support liquid coolers.
