Diablo 4 has an acquisition quest called Stolen Artifice in the Skosglen region where an NPC named Merryn will be sent out from Braestaig to retrieve an item from a thief named Darcel. This is a runic amulet that was used to help sick mothers and children recover until Darsel and his thugs stole it. You idiots.
This is a typical side quest and shouldn’t be a big deal, but players found it unusually difficult. Instead of fighting one Darsel, they encountered dozens of Darsel’s doppelgangers. Some managed to identify who the original was and were able to kill him and complete the quest, while others were forced to withdraw and return, sometimes killing hundreds in their absence. I noticed Darsel spawning.
Some players have put forward the theory that the issue is a bug in the summoning minion abilities Elites can have, but Darsel isn’t one of them. He’s just a big guy with a spiky mace and lots of hit points.Players with more powerful Diablo 4 builds like Lightning Sorcerer had fun Test yourself against Burmy Darsel’s Legionhowever, was not very valuable in terms of loot.
Blizzard has responded by disabling the Stolen Artifice side quest until it is fixed. it has Hotfix 3, issued June 4th, addresses multiple Darsel bugs, Astaroth destroying houses before they reach them in the quest “As the World Burns”, and some stability issues bottom. As a server-side hotfix, clients do not need to be updated to apply these changes. Goodbye, Darsels. we knew you well
