Dying Light 2 DLC Adds “New Maps” And Other Systems
The studio announced the move website And the general reason given was “We’d like to spend more time developing on our commitment to providing the best story expansion possible.”
“As you can see from the ongoing updates, we continue to work on enhancing and improving Dying Light 2,” the post reads. “Our main goal is to ensure that the game meets and exceeds the expectations of our customers and us. I have a few things to add.”
However, the team is hosting the AMA discord We will launch the channel on June 16th at 7am PT (questions must be submitted by June 14th), followed by a livestream on June 29th. The focus of the stream will be “upcoming events and innovative updates.”
These ‘revolutionary updates’ will likely be parkour and night-focused Update planned for June. Techland says the update overhauls freerunning and makes nights a little scarier, both of which have been points of contention among the fanbase since launch. The franchise’s director, Tymon Smektała, also showed up during the Summer Game Fest stream to mention this huge patch. The update doesn’t have a date, but it will likely drop around the time of that livestream unless it’s pushed.
The existence of Dying Light 2 has been accompanied by delays. Announced at E3 2018 and then First postponed to early 2020. After that, the postponement continued, and the release date was settled in February 2022. The first paid expansion, Bloody Ties, was also changed from June to September and then from September to November.
