In this week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast, Gemma, Justin and Treb discuss reactions to the latest Nintendo Direct. We have a lot to talk about in order to deliver over 40 minutes of footage to our fans.
Last week, we covered upcoming games like Lara Croft and Persona 5. There’s a lot more to talk about this week as Nintendo unveils a massive lineup of titles for the second half of the year and beyond. It goes without saying that titles like the Batman Arkham Trilogy, the Super Mario RPG remake, and his all-new 2D Mario game are to be expected in the second half of 2023.
Other highlights of the Direct include a small title called “Vampire Survivor.” In case you haven’t heard of it, this is a popular mobile game that was all the rage last year. Gemma, in particular, had hoped it would come to Switch, and now we know it will debut on hybrid consoles in August.
Meanwhile, Wario is back on WarioWare with a new collection of crazy microgames: Move It! I promise
But the highlight would be the surprise announcement of Super Mario Bros. Wonder. We’ve literally been begging for a new 2D Mario title for years. And the title promises to change things up a lot by introducing some cool new stuff and an interesting elephant power-up. Can’t wait to hear more about this!
We also touch on Luigi’s Mansion, the new Princess Peach, Star Ocean, and more. What was your favorite part of the latest Nintendo Direct?
