Fallout: New Vegas’ awesome new mod adds the hilarious Psychic Tumbleweed to the game as your party’s companion creature. Windy the Wind Brahmin is a psychic tumbleweed that can be purchased from some mutants at Brooks Tumbleweed Ranch if they have the Wild Wasteland trait. Add silly jokes and weird elements to your game.
“You can compliment her, pet her, and when she’s in your party, she fires a very sweet psionic mind control beam that can explode enemies’ heads when she dies.” And she has a dozen or so lines of dialogue tied to the main quest,” says author Duncan Was Here. “She also flies. Gone are the days of broken Tumbleweed companion mods that are more annoying and annoying than her novels.”
I can only assume this is a (very) deep cut from the modding scene.discoverable Brahmin from Windy the Wind-Nexusmods.
This mod contains about 100 lines of Windy’s dialogue, and seems to comment on the content of the main quest as well, which is great. However, the modder has one very ominous caveat. The “Warning” reads, “Windy can have a negative effect and incite people to commit senseless, unspeakable and brutal acts of violence. Install at your own risk.” I’m here.
I’m not sure how that makes Windy different from most Fallout companions, but I’ll accept the warning anyway. Windy looks dangerous, but there’s a screenshot of him wearing a cowboy hat, so it looks good. And it helps distinguish the brown and yellow tumbleweed from the very brown and yellow terrain of the New Vegas landscape.
DuncanWasHere says it’s compatible with “almost everything” with the exception of other mods that mess with unused Wind-Brahmin characters in Fallout: New Vegas’ files. It’s apparently just some cut content that is, you guessed it, a living tumbleweed.
But John, you ask, why is Tumbleweed’s companion named Windy?look videoSee below for the answer.
