Frostpunk 2 has an official release date, as developer 11 Bit Studios has confirmed the game will launch on July 25 for PC and will be available day-one on Game Pass for PC. A real-time strategy game where you battle against time, global cooling, and rebellious elements in the populace, anyone looking for an early taste of Frostpunk 2 can play a seven-day beta in April if they preorder the digital deluxe edition.
Developer 11 Bit Studios also confirmed post-launch plans for Frostpunk 2, as the game will receive three pieces of paid-for DLC. These will be included with the digital deluxe edition as well, alongside the base game, the Warm Flesh digital novella, digital artbook, soundtrack, and early access to the story mode 72 hours before the official release.
Set in a world where an eternal winter has almost driven humanity to extinction, one last city holds out against the cold. Frostpunk 2 builds on the ideas of the first game and pushes players to expand their city while dealing with internal strife as they’re forced to make hard decisions.
New factions in the game include the survivalist Icebloods, industrial Technocrats, and other radical groups you’ll have to deal with as they battle for political power around you. As the city’s Steward, you’ll have to make compromises if you want to hold onto your influence.
Launching on consoles at a later date, Frostpunk 2 will be also coming to Xbox Game Pass.
