Don’t touch that remote! Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, Rocco, Powder Toastman and XJ9 will fight the gods at the all-new Nickelodeon x Smite crossover event on July 12th! After a successful previous crossover of Smite with Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this time to bring you your favorite character from the entire Nickelodeon roster. I will go all out.
Bringing these iconic Nickelodeon characters to the battlefield of the gods was a great experience for our team. I’m very proud of what these skins look like.
Wait … Smite’s Danny Phantom?
Yeah, you heard that right! All classic Nickelodeon characters are embodied in Smite as the dazzling skin of the existing Smite God: Danny Phantom Janus, Rocco Dans Brow, XJ9 Freyja, Powder Toastman Gilgamesh, Invader Zim Cupid.In addition, players can unlock a dozen freedom Nickelodeon cosmetic rewards that deserve memes Smashing Simply play the Smite game and complete the quest to get a Global Emote or Gir Jump Stamp.
Why Nickelodeon?
“Excitement” has not begun to explain how our team reacted when the news about Nickelodeon’s crossover was reported. Our team develops imaginative ideas and great content and is enthusiastic about the project. Having worked with the Paramount team before, this crossover has brought a lot of nostalgia to the team as it covered so many different generations of children’s television. We hope our community will experience a similar nostalgia when they see some of their favorite Nickelodeon characters realized in Smite.
This is the first crossover piece that includes characters from several completely different shows that presents an interesting challenge to the team. Example: How can I turn a raccoon dog (Danzaburo) with a musket into a wallaby (Rocco) wearing a shirt and watching TV? Of course, by changing the musket to a remote control! We wanted to design all the characters in a way that justices the origin of Nickelodeon.
From the gods of Olympus to the heroes of Nickelodeon …
Since the launch of PS4 in 2016, Smite has come a long way from 17 gods to over 121 in total. As the list of gods increased, so did the number of Pantheons in the game. First, a precedent was set. Smite was the battlefield of the gods. Only the actual gods and goddesses of the past will be included.
As the game matured, we began to go against these boundaries. The team has determined that King Arthur from the myth of King Arthur would be an ideal addition to Smite. Sure, he’s not a god, but a mythical figure.
Followed up by Arthur’s Pantheon with Cthulhu, the Great Ones with legendary tentacles. Smite lore is simple. If people believe in God, if they talk about it, they make it a reality – a more modern entry like Cthulhu.These legendary figures from history and mythology have brought a breath of creative freedom to the battlefield – giving us even the opportunity to include them. more Characters that do not fit the “standard” type.
And since I was aiming to expand my character collection with Smite, I wanted to stay true to the game. Why do you see all these crossovers as skins rather than as divine additions? However, since this crossover idea is at the core of Smite, I think these crossovers will resonate with our community. And as much as Smite’s Pantheon, I love welcoming a new community that is passionate about these great IPs.
Smite’s First Nickelodeon Crossover: Avatar: The Last Airbender
The first Nickelodeon crossover that hit Smite was the legendary Smite x Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover. The Titan Forge game team was full of enthusiastic Avatar fans and was delighted to bring the world of Avatar to life with a smile. In this world-changing crossover event, Anne, Zuko, Kora and Naga faced the most difficult task to date, the battlefield of the gods.
The project included many technical challenges that the Titan Forge team had to overcome. Example: How to make a full-size adult Marlin a child (Aang, Avatar: The Last Boy)? Merlin was chosen by Anne because of the variety of elements used. It felt like it best fits Anne’s character-but Merlin didn’t look like Anne. The modeling, rigging, and animation departments needed to work together to make the skin a success.
Aang was internally called a “God-level” skin. He does not share Merlin’s basic assets. The only thing that resembles Merlin is the timing of the abilities. He was created from scratch, completely from scratch. All parts of the Aang skin have been completely redesigned to ensure that Aang is represented in the best possible way. Many of us here on the Titan Forge team are big fans of the show, so it was easy to find a reference that fits the game.
We followed Avatar with another Nickelodeon classic, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Featuring Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. This crossover piece was full of great content from classic anime shows. Kawabunga!
Other Smite Crossover Hits:
Rooster Teeth’s hit anime series RWBY’s Ruby Rose, Blake Belladonna, Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long crashed into Smite on their first successful crossover. Our players loved to include these exaggerated huntless and wanted more crossover content. Smite is upside down in a crossover of Smite x Stranger Things.Includes four characters popular with Stranger Things fans: Eleven, Hopper, and Mind
Flare, and Demogorgon.
Transformers appeared on the battlefield of the gods in 2021 with Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream.
Shortly thereafter, the Titan Forge team broke the mold again with the Monstercat Crossover. This throbbing crossover of bass helped me use music to define different skins inspired by EDM like Club Rave Khepri.
Smite, who quickly followed up on that effort, released the Rambo Crossover in April 2022.
Our latest crossover (before today’s Nickelodeon news) was a whole new kind of crossover: Slipknot.For this large crossover Nine A new skin for the gods of Smite, with a headbanging music pack created with Slipknot’s original national anthem.
All of these projects culminated in the latest and greatest collaboration, the Smite x Nickelodeon crossover event. From July 12th, I’m very excited about the players being able to dive.
