Square Enix PC and PS5 console dedicated game Forspoken I’m late once again. This time, the game will be pushed from 2022 to 2023 and the new release date is January 24th. For some time, I’ve heard grunts about another Forspoken delay, which was related to the potential release of FINAL FANTASY 16 this year. However, Sony released the God of War Ragnarok in the fall of 2022.
Square Enix Statement on Forspoken Delays
Square Enix cites “continuous discussions with key partners” as the reason behind the “strategic decision” to postpone Forspoken. This is a decision that has not surprised many. Fans have expressed concern about the state of the game they’ve shown so far, and many say the game looks rough and can be improved in many areas, including dialogue. It probably doesn’t make sense to release Forspoken in October, as big names like God of War Ragnarok and Call of Duty claim in the fall of 2022.
The statement looks like this:
After ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made a strategic decision to change the Forspoken launch date to January 24, 2023. All game elements are complete and development is in the final stages. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement in the future. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we can’t wait to share more about Forspoken later this summer!
We hope to live up to your expectations, especially given the many talented names given to the game when Forspoken was released.
