behaviorally interactive meet your maker is a new first-person building and raiding game set in a dark post-apocalyptic future. In this dying world, players assume the role of a Custodian, a servant of the Chimera. This is a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth.
To help them evolve, we need to provide them with the world’s most precious remaining resource: pure genetic material. But as you can imagine, it’s not easy to come by.
Gameplay revolves around creating and invading standalone levels called Outposts, as players attempt to protect or steal genetic material from each other. Every outpost in the game was built by players for players, with user-generated content powering the experience.
The possibilities are nearly endless, given that the outpost you build is a huge maze-like structure filled with deadly traps and guards.
mind game
bill in meet your maker It focuses on strategic block-based design. At the heart of the Outpost is an extraction cube that fills a canister with valuable genetic material. To protect it, players draw from a customizable toolbox of traps and guards to create environments that lure, outwit, and gut other players who seek to take what belongs to them.
“I think psychology is very important to the success of Outpost.” meet your makerSenior Game Designer, Inowuk Samson. “You have to think strategically and put yourself in the mind of the raider. You have to try to understand how they will behave in different situations and plan accordingly.”
“A good trap and guard combo is very important because a single trap or guard is rarely effective. Literally hundreds of different combinations are at your disposal without even considering block placement. You can use them, and how you combine them makes all the difference.”

But what does a good trap combo look like? Traps range from acid-filled corrosive cubes to bomb ejectors, incinerators, impellers, holocubes, and more. Each trap can also be modified in different ways, helping ensure maximum slaughter of demonic designs.
Bombs will bounce. You can expand the detection range. Traps can be programmed to self-destruct. Also, every type of guard can be set to his own custom patrol path created by the builder himself.
“I like holocubes because I like to ambush raiders,” Inowuk explains. “You can hide your traps in plain sight. Next up is a corrosive cube, because it looks like a solid but allows projectiles to pass through. Killing is really satisfying.”
“I’m a medium-sized room fan because I like using the bomb ejector,” he says. meet your makercreative director Ash Panel. “This trap drops bombs that bounce all over the place. Use range traps to pin raiders to room entrances and grapple hooks to force them to escape across space. Necessarily hidden in the ceiling.” The Bomb Ejector activates, Dawn!”
Blueprint
The best part of building an outpost in meet your maker This is your chance to create something incredibly unique.
“My approach has always been to start by creating a space where I can play,” Ash says. “This could be a cave, it could be a tower, it could be something more fantastical like a temple. You want to create a nice flow in your space to make sure the raiders can experience your world.” is.”
“The second part is the fun part: enhancements. Think strategically and add traps and guards in cool combinations to bring your outpost to life. And finally, you decorate. We want to personalize your space and give it some meaning, but there are also cosmetics that help confuse the raider’s mind. And I want them to get confused, lost, and distracted by just the right thing.”
“You have to take your time and think about what you want the Raiders to experience,” Inowuk adds. “Maybe we’re not trying to build the worst outpost, but rather taking Raiders on a very specific journey. It’s all possible. Just take a direction and start building. is.”
duality
Finally, whether you gravitate toward building or raiding in Meet Your Maker, the best way to excel at one part of the game is to have a deep understanding of the other.
“What I love about raids is that everything I encounter was actually built by another player. And it’s all made to kill me.” “Also, throughout the raid, you can break down guard/trap combos to see how they got you, and implement those ideas into your own outposts to help you build subtleties.” You will come to understand many of the points.”
“I think the best builders are also Raiders,” concludes Inouk. “It’s all about discovering setups you might not have thought of on your own. Raiding is my greatest source of inspiration as a builder.”
