“Today we are exactly two months away from the launch of Overwatch 2,” Spector tweeted. “We know players want to jump in and have seen questions about the possibility of a third public beta. Internally he will continue to test OW2 daily, but additional We are not planning a public beta test.

The need for a third open beta test is a matter of some debate, driven at least in part by Junker Queen, the latest Overwatch 2 hero to reveal.Morgan was immediately impressed with the new tank, calling it “instantly fun and scary” (opens in new tab)” and “Let me remind you that there is no hero like Overwatch.” (opens in new tab)‘ for her eclectic mix of abilities.
There are also concerns about the overall state of the game. Overwatch 2 is set to make some big changes when it launches in October, including the addition of three new characters, a major rework of existing characters, and a move from 6v6 to 5v5 play. (opens in new tab)— Major structural overhaul. And don’t forget to completely replace the original Overwatch. So there is no transition period or Plan B for players who don’t mind the new style.
“Another beta will help ease the severity of that transition a bit, allowing players to familiarize themselves with the new Overwatch 2 rules and regulations while having Overwatch 1’s security blanket readily available. and our sister site game radar (opens in new tab) Ironically, just hours before Blizzard announced it would no longer be doing public beta testing.
“Overwatch is not your typical FPS title. Its appeal lies in the player’s ability to build teams from different combinations of heroes and transform their different abilities into sympathico multiplayer performances. The characteristic is that the viola in the first chair feels like the string has been cut.”
On the other hand, it’s possible that Blizzard is perfectly happy with the state of the game at this point and wants to avoid the headaches associated with running an open beta, dealing with feedback, and actually finishing the game on time. There are enough of them. However, it is not without risks. If Overwatch 2 falls seriously flat at launch, the decision to skip the third beta will soon come under heavy criticism.
