“Don’t Blame Karma” Synopsis
Adapted from Laura Norton’s novel don’t blame karma A Mexican romantic comedy directed by Elisa Miller. It follows Sarah (Aislinn Derbez), a fashion designer whose famous sister Lucy (Renata Nottoni) has stolen all her fortune. When Lucy becomes engaged to Aaron Starr (Gil Cerezo), Sarah’s childhood friend and the love of her life, Sarah becomes even more convinced that she is cursed to be unhappy forever.
Why does Sarah think she is cursed?
From an early age, Sarah believed she was under the influence of a curse. It started when her younger sister Lucy turned five, Sarah blew out the candles on the cake and stole her wishes for her birthday. Lucy angrily turned to her, vowing that she would steal all her wishes from that point on.
Since then, Sarah has not achieved anything she wanted. Meanwhile, Sarah moved into her grandmother’s rickety old house, and she started a struggling business to sell her fashion designs.She is passionate about the men she’s dating. I don’t even have feelings.
Sarah becomes even more convinced of the reality of the curse when Lucy visits with her new fiancée, Aaron. Lucy really gets Sarah anything she wants.
Are Sarah and Aaron still in love?
It’s revealed that Aaron’s stay at Sarah’s house before her sister’s wedding didn’t extinguish the spark they had in high school.

However, to stop herself and Aaron from getting closer, Sarah decides to marry Roberto. However, their hasty engagement does not last long. Sarah panics at the thought of her and Roberto realizes the fact that she wants him to leave. They break up and part on good terms.
Will Lucy marry Aaron?
But Lucy and Aaron’s engagement is still on, and they’ve only known each other for a few months. Strangely enough, however, neither of them seem very happy to be married to the other.
It is Lucy who pulls Aaron aside just before the wedding to clear any suspicion on him. They both share with each other that they are not in love.
In the end, it’s not Lucy and Aaron who get married, it’s Sarah and Lucy’s parents who renew their vows.
Did Lucy curse Sarah?
After breaking up with Aaron, Lucy tells Sarah that this is her chance to be with him. Sarah objects and she eventually confesses to Lucy that she feels she is cursed for not wanting things. She reminds her sister of her birthday party and how she stole all of Sarah’s wishes.
However, Lucy corrects her. There was a part of the party that Sarah doesn’t remember.Lucy apologized to her after her and offered to return all her wishes.Her angry and proud Sarah refused an apology.
Lucy then tells Sarah she is not cursed. Everything that happened or didn’t happen to her was largely due to her own attitude.
This sinks into Sarah as she realizes she must go after Aaron. Of course, she won’t get what she wants if she doesn’t pursue anything.
How does “Don’t Blame Karma” end?
Sarah finds Aaron and kisses him, but it doesn’t end there don’t blame karma.
Sarah and Lucy make full amends to each other. To fulfill Sara’s unfulfilled wish, the sisters go on vacation together. The film ends with them sitting on the beach watching whales in the ocean.
