gigabash

Release: August 5th
Developer: Passion Republic Games
Price at launch: $35 | £27.79 | AUD $53
Every once in a while, a game is released where giant monsters beat the crap out of each other, and the world rejoices. The latest Kaiju Brawler is played from a top-down perspective, but comes in the form of his GigaBash, which takes the form of Smash Bros. and MultiVerse. Matches can host up to four players in free-for-all or his 2v2, and in addition to the kaiju-inspired beast itself, there’s also a “Titan Hunting Mech” that functions like a superhero. Online and local multiplayer seem to be in their element, but GigaBash also has four single-player his campaigns, tracing the undeniably emotional and nuanced origin stories of some of the monsters. This looks like a lot of fun.

Culinary drama-themed frenetic party games are all the rage right now. Overcooked! Most popular. Seemingly plateau! It has a lot in common with the phenomenon, down to the art style of the title and the exclamation mark, but there are some (admittedly small) differences. Alone or with his three friends, develop and run your own restaurant, strategically placing cooking elements and ovens to streamline your productivity. Once that’s done, the usual mess or cooking and serving begins, and if you can complete the 15-day business without everything falling apart, you win. It’s a light spin.

Launch Price: $1.59 |£1.35 |AU$2.36
Boneraiser Minions are what happens when the developers of Skelly Serest and Staimium Immortaly clone Vampire Survivors. Hordes of enemies will rush towards you, and you’ll need to avoid them while using “Bones and Souls of Killed Heroes” to grow your own hordes of minions. It’s a little more complicated than it sounds and lets you dive into different game modes. Boneraiser Minions is in early access and will stay there for 3 months while new ones are added and old ones refined.
