If you’re like me and have kids as young as 5, you’ve watched Peppa Pig for hours. This is her one of the most popular and successful children’s shows of the last 10-15 years. To say my daughter is obsessed is really an understatement, I’m a stellar parent (and cheeky and slowly starting to introduce her to video games) and I play myself. I decided not only to do it, but to complete it 100%. My friend Peppa Pig, a game that really needs to be completed for certain reasons.
It’s important to emphasize that every part of this game is designed for young children who love Peppa Pig. If you have young kids who don’t watch Peppa Pig, they’re just not interested, and I’ve yet to see my daughter more excited to grab her Switch controller than when she loaded up My Friend Peppa Pig .
My Friend Peppa Pig allows players to live out their fantasy of being part of Peppa’s world. When you start a new game, you will be asked to create your own character in case you want to add lots of animals, clothing color options and accessories to best represent you. , wolves, horses, rabbits, foxes, sheep, moles and mice. We chose Sheep because she wanted to be Susie Sheep, she was very disappointed to meet Susie in-game and she refused to interact with this “copycat”. Claimed!
My first concern was the gameplay element. Thankfully, My Friend Peppa Pig is incredibly user-friendly and successfully introduces very simple controls. You use the left stick to move your character, and he uses the A button for almost everything. That’s the end of most of the game. Anything that can be interacted with will have a button to press, making sure that newer players don’t miss new interactions. Of course, you can jump into any number of muddy puddles!
Besides jumping in muddy puddles, there are many things you can do with Peppa. As a unique character, you arrive at Peppa’s house and from there tell her where to go and what to do. do you want to go to school Jump in the car with Mummy and Daddy Pig and head left. do you want to go skiing? Step out of Peppa’s house and hop in Miss Rabbit’s hot air balloon! Do you want to visit Grandma and Grandpa Pig and go to the beach together? You can do it! My Friend Peppa Pig is more of an interactive experience than a game, and honestly, that’s all it takes. My daughter was reacting to the characters in the game with things like, “Okay, let’s get the ladder!” “Follow me, Peppa!” For anyone who’s ever seen Peppa Pig, seeing Peppa consistently obedient is a rare sight.
You can basically go anywhere in the world of Peppa Pig, but there is one area that is incredibly exciting. Now comes the problem. We searched far and wide, encountered new locations, and triggered many more events, such as Bing Bing Song, which weren’t annoying at all, but we didn’t find Potato City, when my daughter made a video of her gamer rage This was the first time I experienced the
My Friend Peppa Pig holds the player’s hand when it comes to gameplay and puzzle-solving, but when it comes to directions and how to get to certain locations, the handshake is almost non-existent. After visiting the same place over and over again, I searched online for directions to Potato City. After all, to unlock Potato City, you have to check all locations and complete all the events present in My Friend Peppa Pig. Only then can Potato City be unlocked. Certain actions must be completed to access the cutscene that takes you there. My daughter was still sitting on the couch in an endless cycle of muddy puddles, bing bong songs, and hot air balloon rides.
As explained, this game is aimed at very young children, which is why some mechanics (or lack thereof) don’t make sense. The pacing is very slow, you can’t skip the text because of the voice acting, and everything plays out as your own TV special. Talking to Mummy or Daddy Pig may bring up a map where you can choose your destination. When you started your Potato City quest, how you tallied up where you’ve been and haven’t been would have been great. What’s even more frustrating is that if, in the middle of an event or puzzle, you accidentally move right instead of left, or vice versa to a new area, that entire puzzle or event disappears and you have to repeat your previous actions. There is something. Unlock again. A great example of this was when I was working on the final puzzle before Potato City became available and I had to help George find a dinosaur (dinosaur… wow!). It was out of reach and needed adult help. My daughter remembered that Mummy Pig is sometimes in the left field. We went left and she was there, but she wasn’t the right adult. I had to ask Daddy Pig, so I went back to where the event was triggered and started over. Thankfully, I convinced her daughter that George had just lost again (stupid George).
Finally Potato City was ours. My daughter said at Potato City she left in less than 4 minutes and after a short run elsewhere she politely requested Play-Doh to be brought out. Since then, my friend Peppa Pig has not been played by her.
For review purposes only (I promise), I am back in the realm my character and my daughter have experienced themselves. Yeah, it’s not meant for people like me or many gamers, I achieved her 100% completion on my own in less than an hour of hers. My solo experience with My Friend Peppa Pig made me appreciate certain areas of the game more: the controls and the visuals.
The problem with many children’s games is that some people assume graphics are not very important to younger audiences. My Friend Peppa Pig does not have this problem at all. The game is the same as the TV show, visually the same. Visually speaking, the moment Usagi opened her mouth, her daughter yelled, “It’s not Usagi!” – And she was right! But aside from that oddly fitting spot, many of the show’s voice actors are present and literally put you in Peppa’s world.
For parents who don’t want to supervise their kids when they play My Friend Peppa Pig, there are parental controls in the settings menu. When you switch it on, Peppa says it’s time to go to bed around that time and goes home to sleep. A very neat addition.
My Friend Peppa Pig is not a game for the masses. Instead, it carefully delivers the gameplay, visuals, story, and controls to those who I know will play it best. It was a dream come true. And honestly, it’s nothing to worry about! This gripe aside, it’s an impressive game with easy controls that put individuals in an episode with her one of the most beloved characters, Peppa Pig.
