The Spotify PS5 app’s PlayStation Network page, spotted by PlayStation Game Size, didn’t contain any other information, so we don’t know the app’s release date or install size. And PS4 consoles both got their own versions of Spotify, which comes as no surprise. The player hopes that when the native version is released he will include compatibility with 3D audio.
Spotify is available through PlayStation in about 70 countries, but no word on whether this availability will be expanded with the release of the PS5 app. It offers over 70 million songs and billions of playlists to play. A Spotify account is required to use the app, but the player is free to set up. All premium upgrade options also offer a one-month Spotify Premium trial to try before committing to a subscription. Spotify Premium removes ads from playback and allows players to skip as many songs as they like for $9.99/month.
