Great moments in PC gaming It’s a bite-sized celebration of some of our favorite gaming memories.
Magic: The Gathering Arena

Magic: The Gathering is a difficult game to master. I’ve been playing longer than some of you have been alive and have enjoyed the ups and downs that come with games based on luck and skill. You can play perfectly but still fall short, or fling cards in reckless abandon and manage to win. is.
The best games are those that rip cards at just the right moment, play to the strengths of your deck, and try to figure out what your opponent can draw to beat you. Those are the games you remember. It doesn’t even have to be face-to-face, as Magic Arena proved during lockdown. A game, a good extension and a good interface are all you need to create these memories.
Magic Arena supports many formats, including mini tournaments where you can play much faster than you actually are. Quick Draft is the easiest of these to get into, drafting against bots instead of real humans. This is great, but the downside is that bots can make weird choices, so it’s not always the most realistic draft.
Still, once you’ve got your pile of cards and built your deck, you can play against real people. This is where those memories are made. Ridiculous bombs, beautiful deck synergies, last-minute rifts, disconnects, and outrageous aggro play all make for a fun drafting experience. It’s a pity that you can’t enjoy trash talk at the same time, but it’s better to leave it to face-to-face competitions anyway.
Ideally, you end up with 7 wins and then 3 losses. That way, you can cover the entry fee and, importantly, do another draft. However, between you and this goal he has 7 players who want the same thing.
It can be stressful and often irritable. You’re usually matched based on your current season ranking, so it’s pretty easy to pull off a win or two at the beginning of each month, but as you progress, it gets harder and harder to string those wins together. Winning a draft is never easy, even if you have a great deck. All of this helps make your first win feel good, like proof that you’ve gotten a little better at Magic. One step closer to master.
