Evil West, the supernatural Wild West action game from Shadow Warrior 2 developer Flying Wild Hog, has been postponed for another two months. The game, which was first announced for its 2021 release at the 2020 Game Awards, was initially postponed to September 2022 and then again with a new release date of November 22, 2022.
The delay was announced via images on Twitter, the developer cited the pressure of developing across five platforms and multiple console generations as the reason for the delay. Evil West is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
The announcement says Evil West has been well received by audiences who checked out the demo at PAX East earlier this year, but adds that it needs a few more months of development time to polish.
“We understand that game lag can be frustrating, but this is a necessary step to provide the best possible experience for everyone,” the announcement added.
Evil West is a third-person action game set in a supernatural version of the Wild West. Players can vampire step into the boots of his hunter Jesse Lentier and save the American frontier from a plague of monsters. The game can be played alone or in co-op online with a friend, and is joined by Jesse’s partner Edgar and his Grabner.
