Sometime between August 23rd and Last Spartan Standing in the Halo Infinite playlist lineup will be replaced by a new Team Doubles mode. Watch out Spartans… it’s tomorrow.
in the latest Halo Waypoint blog post, 343 Industries outlines upcoming changes to matchmaking. This theoretically improves the accuracy of his CSR ranking, which determines rank. Additionally, players with too large a gap between their CSR rankings will be banned from participating in ranked games together in their party. That particular change started today, Monday, August 22nd, 2022.
There will be extensive changes to CSRs and playlists tomorrow. At 10am PT/1pm ET there will be a normal CSR reset for him and Ranked Mode will be taken down for maintenance. At the same time, Team Doubles will be added to your social playlist. Last Spartan Standing will no longer be available in one hour at 11:00 AM PT/2:00 PM ET. Two hours after that, once Ranked maintenance is complete, Ranked Double will be introduced and Ranked Arena will be playable again.
There’s no indication in the Halo Waypoint post whether or not Last Spartan Standing will eventually return. However, the post contains a note stating: We will add more playlists in the future. ’ In short, things keep changing. Last Spartan Standing may replace or be added alongside Team Doubles in future updates.
