You’ll encounter all sorts of characters who talk about their daily lives and get a glimpse into the overall state of the world. There is also an ant worker who works as a comedian in a restaurant. These little details bring joy to the world around you.
Speaking of joy, the game does a great job of traversing the world using minimal. Tinykins are a variety of cute little creatures that can explore the house, from exploding red Tinykins to his stackable green Tinykins, forming ladders to access new areas. In addition to the floating bubble mechanic, a skateboard-like soapboard is also provided. Aside from the need for ziplines, it’s a nice addition as it allows you to move around the world faster, but it misses the opportunity to explore more gameplay aspects. Incorporating more tricks and time-based gameplay mechanics into soapboards can make traversal feel more dynamic.
The game runs smoothly most of the time, aside from a few frame rate issues. This, and missed gameplay opportunities, doesn’t stop this game from being a cute and engaging 3D platformer. Exploring a civilization built on books and rulers is a pleasure to travel and unwind at night.
