Today, Nvidia sent out a cryptic tweet teasing something called “Project Beyond.” This is almost certainly a teaser for his upcoming RTX 40 series graphics card, or at least something to do with them. This is from his Nvidia GeForce account, not a teaser for AI or data center products or tech. And Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has already confirmed. (opens in new tab) Nvidia will reveal some RTX 40 related information at GTC 2022.
Huang will be giving a keynote at GTC 2022 on September 20th. So he only has 12 days left at the time of writing. GTC (GPU Technology Conference) is usually focused on developers and high-performance computing technologies, but it’s also used to announce new architectures from Nvidia.
We won’t know what Project Beyond really is until Jensen’s keynote, but with 12 days left, we can be sure we’ll see more teasers on Nvidia’s social media channels.
Can you see the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 or RTX 4070 properly? There should be a stylized video in the menu. We can expect more details on the new RTX technology, but it’s highly unlikely we’ll see benchmark data, nor will it be an actual launch event.
In the meantime here are some details (opens in new tab) Upcoming cards tend to change frequently depending on the position of the moon in the sky, and we can expect significant performance improvements for each SKU compared to its RTX 30 predecessor. It has more cores, more VRAM, and a higher power consumption level, but hopefully not a silly level. (opens in new tab) being thrown.
The event itself is set to be livestreamed and we’ll let you know when we have information and links to important announcements.
The hype is real.
