Today, we are happy to announce that the Elden Ring soundtrack is now available on streaming services worldwide. A total of 67 songs from this work, which started full-scale production from the production of the songs used in the debut trailer of E3 (2019).
During the production, I was conscious of keywords such as “epic,” “calmness and resilience,” and “eloquence,” and wanted to reflect in the music that it was different from the “Dark Souls” series. Or bloodborne.
Much of the production process begins with an overview provided by the director. In the brief, I will explain the mood and image required for the work, such as information about the character’s background, the place and situation assumed in the battle his music. Refer to this text, concept design, and in-game screenshots to help expand on your original vision and build your track. Once the track is completed, it is submitted to the director for feedback. With multiple reshoots, you can further develop your ideas, refine your compositions, and fine-tune your shots to perfection. Also for the Elden Ring score, full he recorded with orchestra and singers. The orchestrators and performers did a really great job.
“Song of Honor” is played at Redmayne Castle before the Ladhan Festival. The track was originally intended to be recorded with just the choir members. However, I realized that where many mercenaries and soldiers gather, it’s not all good singers. I wanted to try a production that wasn’t specialized in vocal music, so I hurriedly asked the members of the brass section to do it. They happily agreed with the idea. I am very grateful to have obtained such a wonderful recording for the warrior song.
The song I have the most affection for is the title theme “Elden Ring”.
This composition had to represent the game as a whole. We had to express something different from our previous titles. After spending a lot of time obsessing over the detail and sound quality of this song and fine-tuning it, I believe it has achieved something that embodies the theme of the game and has become a strong pillar of direction for the rest of the music. I think it’s a good work that motivates and excites players to adventure to Elden Road when they start playing the game.
