This week, Contra III: Alien Wars (or Super Protector: Alien Rebel) on SNES in Europe.that is crazy, right? Despite Konami’s somewhat lackluster attempt to revitalize the franchise with Contra: Rogue Corps in 2019, here at Nintendo Life, Run ‘n’ Gun still has a spot in his shooter series’ hearts. I have.
Since launching the original Contra as a coin-operated arcade title in 1986, the franchise has spawned quite a few sequels on Nintendo’s platforms. Many of these are known in Europe under different names, so it can be a little tricky to know exactly where to start (although Konami’s Contra Anniversary collection for Switch does a good job of fixing this. It helps a lot.
So, to sort hard versus rogue, rate your favorite Contra titles below to help us create our ranking of the best Contra games of all time!
