I can punch that cage jackass in the face. 10/10, punch again.
As befits a game that grew as big as Idea Factory following its initial release, Amnesia: Memories attracted more than its share of follow-up content. His two of Amnesia’s most famous ‘fan discs’, ‘Later’ and ‘Crowd’, have been assembled into his one cart for Switch release. In terms of content, he feels the two games are a bit unbalanced, but it’s a solid package. I hope you enjoyed the original story.
The “Later” game is a collection of vignettes unlocked by following a common route that grants amnesia to the protagonist (again…), the suitor, his female friend, and their job manager. After going to the end of the common routes with the characters, the easy route with the female friend, the 4 routes with the manager (one for each characterization of the original 4 routes), and the extended route with the suitor. Unlocks the post-story scene. but there doesn’t seem to be any specific bad endings (only ‘Friends’ and ‘Romance’ endings respectively) – although there are special post-story routes with the spirit to unlock once characters are processed. It was a nice, refreshing read, although the actual gameplay was a bit neglected.
“Crowd” has several different game modes for more interaction. There are groups of mini-games including falling block puzzles, “Simon” and memory crosses, and even simple math. (All themed around the main character’s work.) The “Suspense” mode offers a route with each suitor that unfolds as a combination of Novel and Zero Her Escape Her game-style point-and-click adventure is much smaller. scale. “Love” scenes are short sequences that lead to exclusive scenes, all feeding into points that can be used to unlock even more scenes.
It’s hard to fully appreciate these fan discs and post-game content compilations… their emergence. Later x Crowd is one of the better fan-disc treatments on Switch, but with a decent mix of modes and he’s two games’ worth of fan service. It is absolutely recommended after clearing the original.
